Playground equipment fundraiser!
Garfield Elementary is a hub for our neighborhood. In the past three years we have lost two large playground structures. The school district does not have the funding to replace the equipment so we are turning to our amazing community for help. We need to raise at least $100,000. Even though this is a very large goal, we know that we can come together and reach it. Every dollar makes a difference.

Donations are tax deductible. Please let us know if you need a receipt.
Also, if you are a grant writer or have any ideas for large scale fundraising, please don't hesitate to reach out to the PTA. You can email us at email@example.com.
We are excited to have another amazing yearbook this year. We are even more excited that we get to offer it at the same price as last year, $12! We had so much community support for our yearbook fairy fund last year. Everyone that wanted a yearbook but could not afford it at the time was able to get one. The Garfield community always shows up for each other and we are hoping to do it again this year. We have opened online pre orders for the yearbook. You can also use this link to donate to the fairy fund. Pre orders will be delivered to students the week of June 12th. If you do not preorder we will have a small amount for sale starting June 14th. Here is the link to order: https://yearbook-orders-2023.cheddarup.com.
popcorn friday donations
In previous years the PTA has sold bags of popcorn on Fridays for $.50. This year we decided to make popcorn available to all students regardless of ability to pay. We will have a donation jug available by the library where students can drop money on their way to lunch. We understand that some don't want to send their students with cash to school so we have made it easier to make a donation for popcorn Friday. This link lets you donate any amount even if it is $.50. These donations allow us to continue providing popcorn for all our students. Thank you for your support!
Thank you so much to our Garfield community! We were able to reach our goal of $10,000! This money is going to support so many great events at Garfield. And since we reached our goal Mr. Chertok and some of the staff members are getting slimed at an upcoming assembly.
Garfield Elementary Parent Teacher Association (PTA) welcomes you to the new school year!
Our board meets monthly on the 2nd Monday of the month from 6:30-7:30 pm. We will hold four membership meetings this year on a day separate from the board meeting. Membership meetings will include PTA details as well as a presentation from Garfield staff or a community member. The Zoom link is the same every month. It can be found here, on our Facebook page and included in the school newsletter. The board and membership meetings are open to members and non-members. We hope you stop by!
The PTA fundraises to support Garfield Elementary. Funds raised in previous years have supported the purchase and installation of the climbing wall in the gym, the purchase of audio-visual equipment, performing arts assemblies, books for the library collection, and supply funds for teachers. The main fundraisers this year will be the Cougar Mountain Cookie Dough sales this fall, and Dance-a-thon in the spring. We also raise funds through Amazon Smiles, Fred Meyer Rewards, and the Combined Fund Drive.
The PTA needs volunteers. Our best events happen when all our parents/guardians come together to volunteer. Members and non-members alike may volunteer in a way that works for them: daytime or evening, recurring or sporadically. Cheetahs appreciate their volunteers!
Where to find PTA information? Look for PTA posts in Principal Chertok’s newsletters, on the PTA Facebook and website, or sign up for our mailing list to learn more about meetings, volunteer opportunities and upcoming events.

THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN TO OUR GARFIELD COMMUNITY!
Because of all of you we have fully funded a four week after school theater program for the 2022-2023 school year. This is going to give our students a great opportunity that they may have otherwise not had. We continue to be blown away by the continued support from our community. You all make Garfield a great place to be!
