The Garfield PTA is proud to present Schoolhouse Rock!! Join us on February 10th or 11th to cheer our students as they sing fun songs like Conjunction Junction and I'm Just a Bill. We have 3 opportunities to see their performance.
Friday February 10th @ 6 pm Saturday, February 11th @ 2 pm and 6 pm Doors open an hour before the performance and first come. We are partnering with Apple Tree Productions to bring School House Rock Jr. to Garfield Elementary. Applications have closed and rehearsals will start this week. This is a great opportunity for our students to share their talent.

Our board meets monthly on the 2nd Monday of the month from 6:30-7:30 pm. We will hold four membership meetings this year on a day separate from the board meeting. Membership meetings will include PTA details as well as a presentation from Garfield staff or a community member. The Zoom link is the same every month. It can be found here, on our Facebook page and included in the school newsletter. The board and membership meetings are open to members and non-members. We hope you stop by! The PTA fundraises to support Garfield Elementary. Funds raised in previous years have supported the purchase and installation of the climbing wall in the gym, the purchase of audio-visual equipment, performing arts assemblies, books for the library collection, and supply funds for teachers. The main fundraisers this year will be the Cougar Mountain Cookie Dough sales this fall, and Dance-a-thon in the spring. We also raise funds through Amazon Smiles, Fred Meyer Rewards, and the Combined Fund Drive. The PTA needs volunteers. Our best events happen when all our parents/guardians come together to volunteer. Members and non-members alike may volunteer in a way that works for them: daytime or evening, recurring or sporadically. Cheetahs appreciate their volunteers! Where to find PTA information? We Are Glad You Are Here! popcorn friday donationsIn previous years the PTA has sold bags of popcorn on Fridays for $.50. This year we decided to make popcorn available to all students regardless of ability to pay. We will have a donation jug available by the library on Thursdays and Fridays where students can drop money in on their way to lunch. We understand that some don't want to send their students with cash to school so we have made it easier to make a donation for popcorn Friday. This link lets you donate any amount even if it is $.50. These donations allow us to continue providing popcorn for all our students. Thank you for your support!

Because of all of you we have fully funded a four week after school theater program for the 2022-2023 school year. This is going to give our students a great opportunity that they may have otherwise not had. We continue to be blown away by the continued support from our community.
